OUTLOOK 2024
Buildings and Construction: A steady flow of opportunities
Would you sign up today for 7% growth this year? That’s the rosy outlook for the construction sector, the analysts at Dodge Construction Network recently said. Within that figure are some large variations, though: Commercial and office construction will slip from 2023 levels while residential work looks set to do well after a rough period and the value of manufacturing projects is expected to pop a whopping 16%.
That’s not to say all frowns have been turned upside down. The biggest headache for businesses remains: Qualified workers are incredibly difficult to come by and the situation might be getting worse, with job openings in November clocking in at their highest level in more than a year. Every silver lining has a cloud, right?
